How will American Alarms monitor your security system?
Communication between your American Alarms Security System and our Central Station begins with your control panel, the detection devices, and a telephone line. You may use telephone lines, PHIOS, VOIP, or a cellular phone.
American Alarms programs your system to send a daily self test in order to confirm your system’s ability to reach the central station in case of an emergency.
An alarm occurs when a specific device or sensor has been interrupted or tripped. The device then communicates with the panel, which notifies American Alarms Central Monitoring Station.
The signal is then received by one of our central station operations, who will follow specific procedures:
the operator will notify the proper authorities
someone on your emergency contact list will be notified
follow up with authorities will continue until a final resolution is reached
American Alarms Security panel can send the following signals:
- Burglary
- Low battery/power failure
- Commercial fire
- Fire alarm
- Residential panic
- Fire sprinkler
- Propane or natural gas detection
